Enrolling NOW for Kindergarten 2018!
Comprehensive literacy and numeracy education with play based learning and fun exploration, our early childhood teachers provide relevant learning opportunities for children that take into account diverse family, cultural, linguistic, school and community influences.
The kindergarten program comprises 3 sessions per day. Session one covers english and mathematics exclusively, session 2 is project time where five other key learning areas are taught using an enquiry and play based approach. Each project is interest based and has a different focus subject area. Over the year, all syllabus outcomes are met for each key learning area in a fun, engaging and child centred manner.
Session 3 is a physical session where great emphasis is also placed on physical literacy and activity. Not only does it to keep our kids healthy, but it also has academic, lifestyle and personal development benefits, as well as a positive impact on a child’s self-confidence and mental resilience.
Physical literacy occurs when individuals acquire the skills and confidence that allow them to enjoy a variety of sports and physical activities; fundamental movement skills such as travelling skills, object control skills, and balance movements – that lay the foundation for physical literacy. From there, children begin to learn fundamental sport skills and how they’re used in various decision making situations across a range of environments.
