Football NSW State League

International Football School Futsal Club was the first Central Coast futsal club to compete in the Football NSW Futsal State League. Each of our representative squads will consist of upto 15 players with a focus on helping the players understand how to play Futsal at the highest level.

We are competing in the male Under 12, 14, 16, 19 and open age groups plus female teams in the Under 13, 15, 17 and opens age groups. We are only permitted to enter one squad per age group.

To help understand our strategy towards developing high level Futsal players it may be helpful to understand the pathway to representative levels.

IFS Futsal Club is an affiliated Futsal Centre with Football NSW. We run a local competition on Monday and Friday nights that are designed to appeal to a mass audience who want to take part in community level futsal and understand how to play the game. Players playing in this competition will be considered when selecting representative players. Players from these competitions are also given the option to compete in the Football NSW State Cup, a weekend competition combining team from all FNSW affiliated futsal centres across the state, usually played late January in Sydney.

The next step in the pathway is to play in the Football NSW State League competition. There is 7 clubs in this league for the 2015/16 season, including ours (the majority being from Sydney).  This is the first level of representative Futsal and we were the first Central Coast organisation to enter this competition.

The next step (after the state league) is the Football NSW Futsal Premier League. For the 2015/16 season there is now two divisions, PL2 and the top PL1. We hope to apply to enter this competition in the 2016/17 season with plans to have teams playing both in the State League and the Premier League.

The Premier competition is the F-League.  This is a national competition and our long term intention is to take part in this league. The winner of the F-League goes onto to play in the AFC Futsal Club Championships, with Australian teams doing very well in 2015, East Coast Heat finished 3rd in the Men’s competition, while Dural Warriors finished 2nd in the Women’s competition.

The winner of the AFC Futsal Club Championships goes onto to play in the FIFA Intercontinental Futsal Cup against teams from all over the world.

There are other competing Futsal competitions in Australia, however, we have decided to align ourselves within this competition framework as it is the only competition that is sanctioned by FFA and FIFA who are the National and International governing bodies of both outdoor Football and Futsal.

Our home venue for the FNSW Futsal State League is the Peninsula Leisure Centre, Woy Woy and we play roughly half of our games in Sydney.
