Hi All
I took great pleasure in catching up with one of my former young Australian players during a visit to the Australian Institute of Sport this week. I hope you take the time to read and digest my account of what Jacob has achieved. His achievements are possible for every IFS player, if you have the passion and desire to succeed in professional football.
Jacob is one of the most passionate young players in Australian football. He began playing professionally for Wollongong in 2002. The fourth youngest player to debut for the Wolves at top flight football, at the age of 16, he scored during his first game.
Jacob went on to play six games in his first season, playing an additional 25 matches in top flight football, accumulating more goals against some of the best teams in the league.
His great performances drew the attention of the Young Socceroos head coach, he was selected and represented Australia at both U17 and U20 level. He is held in high regard by his former team mates and current football coaches and colleagues.
