Over the past four weeks students have been introduced to music and the organisation of sounds. They have learned that music is not just associated with musical instruments but can be interpreted by applying a variety of different types of performing medias (sounds).
Students have studied different rhythmic dictations, created their own simple compositions and experimented with concepts of structure and texture in music. Introduced to the progression of rock and roll, they performed different rock beats using different performing medias and applied this knowledge to their own group performances.
On Thursday students were assessed on their ability to collaboratively integrate these learned skills to produce their own performance based on the music production STOMP. Below are three different videos of these performances, need to say, I am extremely proud of the effort and creativity stage 4 students demonstrated throughout this task. These performances are a prime example of how music can be created through diverse connections and use of imagination!
Take a look at the following videos. I hope you are as proud of our students as I am.
Have a happy and safe break!
